The Borstelmannsweg section in Hamburg, part of the firestorm area. Temperatures here reached to 1,472 degrees F. (Below) Despite the shattered and fire-gutted appearance, this district, near the waterfront was not part of the firestorm. This section was hit on the first heavy raid, and large mass fires exploded outward. The streets have already been cleared. National Fire Protection Association
