2/8: Lenin statue removal night scene, BBC 'Messengers from Moscow', 1994
Two cranes lifting statue outside at night, six people in foreground, three with arms up.

Not quite how it seems?

These few seconds of film from a 1994 BBC documentary watched at normal speed seem to show a jubilant crowd approving the removal of Lenin's statue at night. But freezing a frame when the scene is illuminated by a camera flash (as here) shows that in fact only a handful of people are visible. And no people are visible on the other side of the statue.
