La stampa britannica ed una manifestazione a Roma contro la guerra

Bene, nella stampa britannica tale evento è stato o ignorato o riportato non correttamente. In realtà i più grandi quotidiani inglesi The Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph, Times, Sunday Times, Guardian e Independent hanno tutti ignorato la manifestazione. The Observer di domenica 11 Novembre contiene solo quanto segue:

Hawks and doves fly the flag

Rome was divided by war and peace yesterday as tens of thousands of people attended a pro-US rally at the same time as protesters denounced the Afghan conflict just a few streets away. Holding aloft a sea of US and Italian flags the American supporters chanted 'USA, USA'. 'Today, we are all citizens of New York,' Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi told the crowd in Rome's Piazza del Popolo.

Ieri, Roma si è trovata divisa tra guerra e pace poiché decine di migliaia di persone hanno preso parte alla manifestazione "pro-US" mentre a pochi metri più in là alcuni protestanti denunciavano il conflitto in Afghanistan. Mentre sventolavano in alto un mare di bandiere americane e italiane i sostenitori americani cantavano "USA, USA". "Oggi siamo tutti cittadini di New York", così il primo ministro italiano Silvio Belusconi ha parlato alla folla in Piazza del Popolo a Roma.
